What's your goat?
In the CrossFit world, a "goat" is a movement or skill that you either a) can't do for diddly, or b) hate with a passion usually reserved for that guy in college who never asked you out, or the girl who wound up dating him.
My goat: gymnastics skills that require lower abdominal strength. I don't have the strength, and thus I HATE attempting the movements (skin the cat, toes to bar, knees to elbows), because really - who likes to feel inadequate?
So, saddle on up to the bar and confess your goat.
i can't run for diddly.. does that make running my goat?
ReplyDeleteha! and how many 50k and 50M races have you finished, young man??
ReplyDeletei've run enough ultras to know that i can't run for diddly?
ReplyDeleteWell, as far as I'm concerned you are quite an accomplished runner. Heck, you can certainly run circles around me!
ReplyDeleteIf that's not being able to run for diddly, sign me up!
now you're just being generous.. you smoked me at self-transcendence.
ReplyDeletei can, however, walk faster than you.. (:
And now you're just being a show-off :)
ReplyDeleteI have trouble with Dead Lifts. I hate them. I can not decide if I hate them because I perform so poorly, or if I simply hate them and therefore never put much effort into them. Either way its a dysfunctional relationship that the likes of DR. Phil can not repair.
ReplyDeleteNever having seen you DL, I can only guess that you hate them becaues you impose upon youself an unrealistic expectation of your performance.
ReplyDeleteI say unrealistic because you can't possibly pull strong if you don't DL often and build the strength :-P
In yoga, I can't do reverse triangle for diddly. Now, get me into a nice cobbler's pose and I'm flat on the floor, but a simple side triangle? Lucky for me, yoga is not a competitive sport.
ReplyDeletePush ups I can not do push ups for diddly! But I'm working on it in my weights class! :)
