I wonder..

What would it be like to walk a marathon?

Thoughts?

  1. you practically walked self-transcendence this year, hanging with that slow-poke.

  2. Why not ride a tricycle in a Iron Man! I for one would not want to know. Why ask why!

  3. Steve - nah...that was just ultra paced :)

Thomas - aw, come on ;) there are some pretty quick walkers out there! I, for one, can't walk fast at all...it hurts! I have a lot of respect for people who can race walk, power walk, or just walk long distances. Me, I get bored and have to start running.

  4. That is something I will almost certainly never know. Maybe sixty miles in three days. I guess that's your answer there: a three day for breast cancer. A new challenge for a Diva someday, perhaps?

  5. Dirt - I don't think I could handle 3 days' worth of women :)

  6. I’m with you – I would get bored of walking, and the temptation to run would take over. The same argument could be made about running long distances. There is something about wanting to go faster that is imbedded in my (and most) DNA. Most likely a carryover from prehistoric days when running was survival (Get food or be food). Not that it’s an issue today unless taxes go up more (LoL). I also have a lot of respect for the power walkers. Like everything else, there are a lot of specifics that go into it not seen from the casual observer.
NYM – I need to put this on my list.

  7. I'm thinking long and slow, and most likely boring. Then again, I've never walked a marathon so what do I know.
