Brick by Brick

Making the commitment to alter our (eating and fitness) lifestyle is huge.  But the steps we take to get there don't need to be.  We would never put the roof on a house without first laying the foundation and building the walls.  And I doubt I could write a novel without first learning the alphabet :) Nutrition and fitness are no different; we should spend some time and lay the groundwork before we can truly embark upon the journey.  The smaller the change, the more likely we will be able to maintain it and live with it.

What does this mean to us?  It could mean going from 2 tablespoons of creamer in our our morning coffee to 1 tablespoon.  Or perhaps committing to going to the gym just once per week rather than telling ourselves that we have to get there every single day.

Make small changes, and then build on them; brick by brick.

So, what are we changing this week?  I'm going to limit the times my hand dips into the pretzel cannister....

  1. Very good - Brick by brick. Don't forget the goal! It's easy to get derailed without a goal to keep you on track.

  2. In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that I consumed many pretzels today :)
